Fourteen Fairwater Lions and volunteers made short work of assembling 250 pizzas during the club's fall Pizza Fundraiser on October 25. Thanks to Lions Merle Strelow and Pam Leahy for orchestrating. Internal polls indicate that the Lions' pizzas are still the best in town.

Halloween: The Lions sponsored their annual Halloween Party on October 26, hosting more than sixty trick-or-treaters and guests. The club provided the drinks, 18 pizzas and other treats. Thanks to Jeff and Bonnie Frederick for making the event a success with their decorations and awesome collection of animated ghouls and other seasonal creatures.

Fairwater Welcome Signs: The Fairwater Lions worked with Randolph's Wayne VandePlueg to create welcome signs for the village. The signage, measuring 10' by 3', was made possible through a donation by Badger Mining Corporation are Fairwater welcome signbeing installed in early November at each of the three entrances to the village.

Landscaping for the signs will be provided by Lions volunteers. The sign marking the east entrance to the village will be landscaped with a rock garden using black granite from the Utley quarry a mile west of Fairwater. The sign on the north entrance has been adopted by Lions Laurie and Jim Sasada and will be landscaped using fund donated as a memorial to Luverne Stellmacher. The Club will provide a permanent flower bed for the sign shown above, at the west edge of the village.
